I liked this, very interesting use of tech & whump. The disorientation of the past/present was good, I liked all the little glimpses of John's history.

I almost didn't read this based on the title though. After that song came out, it seemed like there was a serious overload of Evanescence-inspired fic (and don't get me started on the 1001 vids done to that song). Once I got past the title, this was a great exploration of John-without-Atlantis, stuck in that rank & file atmosphere of both SGC & Earth.

I hope you commit more flash-fics in the future. *g*
