i wonder if it's their very humanity that makes all the difference. it's hard to have an evil overvillain and then show nuances. but here are real people with their own points of views and desires and vulnerabilities.... and while the sow chooses to portray them pretty one-dimensionally, i think we still care more about kolya's son dying than about wraith lady number 1 :-) we see them cheat and betray but know that to themselves they're obviously not evil...maybe unlike the wraith, who are beyond moral considerations???
