As far as POV goes, I have what I'm totally willing to admit is a completely baseless dislike of first person. I don't generally write it, and I'm disinclined to read things written in it, most of the time. No idea why; I just don't much care for it. Still, you may have a point, about the dissociation, and you're definitely right that we're already inside Elizabeth's head far enough that it might not make a huge difference.
Ah well. I'm pretty much planning to let this stew until break at the very least; it wants revision, but I'm not in the appropriate frame of mind to handle it, yet.
