Thanks, I like the friendship aspect. I didn't mean for it to dominate the story, but I guess I feel strongly enough about it that it really showed through, according to lots of people who commented. :)

Rodney's the sort of person who complains loudly and at length about sun burn but suffers knife wounds in relative silence. It's (objectively) an interesting trait to write, and (subjectively) it makes me want to hug him when something bad happens. I think it's something that John picks up on too, though more with the yelling and the teasing than with the hugging, I think. ;)
