Ever since I moved to the Atlanta area, I've felt so sad for people who have to learn how to drive here , instead of a city where the other drivers aren't TERRIBLE. It's so bad, and I've decided it's partially the fault of Southerners, who are too nice and stop to let other drivers do stupid things like make a left through three lanes of oncoming traffic, and partially the fault of Northeastern transplants, who drive just as rudely as they did where they came from. (I'm from the West coast originally, so I exempt myself from being the cause of any of the insanity.)
And I can't drink sweet tea, blecch -- I have to order half-sweet, half-unsweet, and that works just fine.
Oh, and about the fic -- it took a long time to get my sister (who lives in Portland, OR) down here to the Atlanta area. Not quite as bad as Rodney with his "Deliverance" paranoia, but pretty close. (BTW, when she did come down for a conference, we took her around to all the fun things, and she had such a good time, she said she'd like to come back.) So I TOTALLY get where he's coming from. :-)
