There's a lot of irony in the 'compassionate leave' here, since I think John would have preferred not to go. His relationship with his father is summed up nicely by how John sees himself in the mirror. This is painful, but at least John has a home on Atlantis to return to, and a typical Rodney to ignore. *g* I liked this a lot.
