The three's came to me late in the game, but it fit very well with the story I wanted to tell.
As for the shunning, I can't see them acting any other way. How do you react when the enemy that has been killing your people forever suddenly is part of your leader? If it was just the DNA, they can (and seem to be doing so) ignore that, but with visible signs and no way for her to defend herself... not good.
I suspect that last week's challenge was still dragging at my head when I wrote this. Nothing in the Pegasus galaxy seems to be sunshine and light.
