John was thinking more along the lines of wanting to 'get back at them for eating us', which was translated into 'we get to eat them instead, ha!'.

Rodney and Ronon found it easier to simply transform new objects (whilst holding them), as opposed to figuring out which of the piles of jello and pudding on the field were 'just ship' and which had 'wraith bits' in them. High velocity impacts make for messy landings. ^_~;;
