Here via stargateficrec. I really like this — the way you incorporate realistic cultural differences and let Rodney overreact but then have them actually work through the details. Your observation that both of them are dealing with something they didn't exactly expect, and that isn't really quite what they were looking for, is an excellent one. And this is probably my favorite line: as his quick thinking and excellent grasp of whatever must have caught up with him. Immediate payoff!
