Darkness Challenge - Human Eyes, by akire
Title: Human Eyes
Author: akire
Rating: G
Notes: Drabblefic, ten minutes from idea to posting, so all mistakes are mine
When he sat in the chair, colour returned. He saw through the city, her sensors and scanners showing him things he thought he’d never see. He could see in ultraviolet, infrared and a thousand other spectrums. He could see deep into space, or down to the genetic level of the people walking the corridors beyond his lonely tower.
But eventually the chair would retract, and kindly hands would guide him back to his lonely quarters. And he would be left alone in the dark to remember that last bright flash of light and mourn the loss of his human eyes.
