Thank you so much for your kind words. I am also facinated by the time between Return 1 & 2 and just how shitty we were shown on the show that the SGC had been acting. (But then, I only started watching SG1 once I was really into Atlantis, so it feeds my us vs. them kink and probably isn't really fair ;) I do also like writing past stories with all the knowledge we have of the future (like Keller), because if offers an easy laugh or angst moment, and a connection between reader and writer to share the 'in-joke' that is sometimes the only connection you can have -- except for lovely feedback like yours.
