John slowed and stopped at the edge of the forest. Teyla grabbed his arm insistently, but he'd already tuned her out.

He wasn't prepared for the hate to hit him as hard as it did. It drove him to his knees, but he caught it, grabbed onto the alien's mind and the other two quickly followed. Hive minds; he couldn't have asked for more.

He could feel blood dripping down his face but he only lashed out harder. This wasn't going to be like Afghanistan. No hesitation.

He felt them die, burned alive as the ships dove into the ground.
