In honor of this being our last flashfiction challenge before new episodes start, Bring out yer dead! We hereby declare an official two-week Season One Amnesty: if you've got a half-finished story for ANY of our previous 14 challenges--i.e. 38 Minutes, Abandonment, Bloody, City Exploration, Culture Clash, Dangling, Darkness, ESP, Enclosed Spaces, First Contact, First Night, Slavefic, Swimming, or Voyeurism--polish those puppies and post 'em now! Hurry! Before new canon fucks you up!

Today's July 5th; stories will be due July 19th at midnight!

First of all, speaking as a relatively recent member of the community, thank you so much for this challenge. Now I can finish the ESP thing I'd started, and see about playing catch up with some of the other great prompts.

Secondly, what about a missing challenge? As in, missing (lost) people, people and places and things the characters miss from Earth, points that are missed, etc. It has some similarities, but I don't think it would be the same as the Abandonment challenge. Of course if you feel otherwise, feel free to abandon the idea;)

Oh I do have one huge question, I know that there's a word limit, but with the type of plots I've got for all three fics, I know for a fact that I'll end up going over the word limit and I was wondering whether or not that would matter? I mean, I know that the limits there's for a reason....

The word limit is a strange and mysterious thing. *g* The word limit exists to signify our determination that people not feel a story HAS to be long to be acceptable--we want people to relax and come play. OTOH, far from enforcing the word limit, we, uh, actively encourage its breakage. You have a story that goes longer? GIMME GIMME GIMME is our official motto. (We've got it embroidered on a sampler. *g*)

Userinfo says 'any 'ADMIN' post' and this is the first I could find.

Is there any chance you guys could ask that ships and ratings are placed in fic headers? Some people do it anyway, but not all, and as someone who hates het and isn't keen on pr0n I'm wasting looooads of time at the moment reading fics I don't finish...

We actually had a discussion about this based on an earlier request and decided that we did not want to require ships or ratings; sga_flashfic accepts all kinds of fic, slash, het, gen, porn, whatever, and a lot of people value the grab-bag nature of the community since there are other communities for specific ships, or slash only, etc. We recognize that this is an inconvenience for those who have specific tastes, and we're sorry about that, but we decided to err on the side of "caveat lector" on this one!

And I have an idea for a challenge.
What about home? I mean, I'd like to see our heros at home. With their family, without their family, with their friends, or just something like that.
You can define home very broadly...
Or you can make it a home/family/friends challenge...

Actually, you know what would be fun? A kind of AU home/friends/family challenge. I say this because a lot ofpeople are writing backstories, about where the characters come from. But where DIDN'T they come from? I mean, what if we did a challenge based--not on your most likely thought as to where home is, but your LEAST likely, or one that you wouldn't otherwise write? That's more of a challenge, if you follow me.,..hmmmm.
