The day was long
The sky was fine
We spread our hands and our smiles wide
Our jewels reflected in their eyes

Ragged and thin they took us in
And washed our bodies from their water skins
We took their comfort and gave them toys
We kissed their girls
And beat their boys

How can we travel with our cloak of woe?

Bellies so full and our clear blue skies

Hah! I'm such a Massive Attack fangirl. I'm actually going to make a Teal'c vid to the Hymn of the Big Wheel, um, one of these days. *g* I have it planned out but it involves me actually sitting down and drawing at least half the keyframes so I think it will be a VERY rainy one-of-these-days.

Yes. I suspect all this sction is not really apparent in the vid. So I helpfully recap! :)

I had all this Blue Planet footage because I wanted it for another project - the Ancient weapons are simple projectile paths with shoals of fish displacement-mapped over them, as far as I can tell... But my copy of After Effects doesn't support displacement mapping and to do it in Photoshop would be an arse-and-a-half so until I can figure out a solution I just have all this PRETTY. *plays with it*

Ah, cool! I like the idea that they might start keeping mission reports in song form, a kind of oral history - especially if they had to leave Atlantis for some reason. Hmm, I'd love to see some fic based on this...

I've seen Morris dancing before. Happily, Teyla looks so much more fluid and elemental to me than that video. It's just my fangirl brain saying - all of Teyla's people rock that hard! Unfortunately, Terry Pratchett has suceeded in making thing offensive!Morris dancing is only right when you're trying to defeat a bunch of psychotic elves. It would probably work on space vampires, too...
