Stay Awake, by benj_inbtw (amnesty 2007, ways to die, 38 minutes)

Title: Stay Awake (PG)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] benj_inbtw (billie)
Summary: Maybe he just watched a western too much, read one cowboy comic too much, but still, it's what he's always wanted for himself.
Notes: ~460 words, gen, no spoilers, post-S4. Written in 38 minutes and posted just in time, which means it's unbetaed (so please point out all the grave errors that are bound to be in this). Not mine, just playing with 'em.

Stay Awake )

Symbiosis by Philote (amnesty 2007, missing persons)

Title: Symbiosis
Author: Philote
Rating: gen, PG
Spoilers: “Runner,” “Coup D’etat”
Disclaimer: The characters and situations of Stargate: Atlantis do not belong to me. I make no money from this story. Please don't sue.
Auhtor’s Note: Written for Amnesty 2007 and the Missing Persons challenge. Set sometime late in Season 2, not long after “Coup D’etat.”

Summary: When you took someone else’s geek out to play, it was just common courtesy to bring him back in one piece. Lorne story, with a healthy dose of secondary characters and a side dish of Sheppard and McKay.

oOo

He never would have thought science and military so symbiotic. )

"Everything", by Hyperfocused.(All challenges )Rated R

Conjunctions, by Sophonisba [amnesty 2007|culture clash/debriefing challenges]

-title- Conjunctions
-author- Sophonisba ([livejournal.com profile] saphanibaal)
-warnings- AU, AU, AU: a behind-the-scenes part of my canon-asymptotic AU, with a fair amount of explications between the lines. Gen with inferences. Some oddities with language as artifacts of the translation process. Discussion of religious themes.
-timeframe- Between "The Siege" and "The Intruder."
-spoilers- First season, "The Siege," some of the flashback bits of "The Intruder," and the SG-1 episode "Full Circle."
-characters- Teyla, and... herein be spoilers.
-disclaimer- SGA, of course, is not mine. Nor is the rest of the Stargate franchise, for that matter. If they were, canon would look considerably more like this. At one point, Chuck-tech paraphrases C. S. Lewis (from The Last Battle, to be more precise) and the last sentence was inspired by Wrede's The Raven Ring.
-word count- 3187
-summary- While the command staff is on Earth, Teyla holds her first command meeting.

I suspect it was probably the Canadians who ensured that the gatespeak adjective when referring to the USA is a different word from that referring to the continent(s). )

ZOMG by Lanna_kitty (Amnesty 2007, Ways to Die)

Title: ZOMG
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lanna_kitty
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: AU, AU, AU. also? DEATHFIC!!! and crack.
Timeframe: Post S4
Length: 3390 words
Pairings: John /Elizabeth, Sam/Jack (both established)
Summary: "Mitchell's going to be so jealous."
For the[livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic 2007 Amnesty. The "Ways to Die" Challenge.

ZOMG! )

In Case of Emergency, by Sophonisba [amnesty2007|ways to die/fight or flight/not happening]

-title- In Case of Emergency
-author- Sophonisba ([livejournal.com profile] saphanibaal)
-warnings- Gen. Strong language and some violence. In my head, this is part of my canon-asymptotic AU, but it isn't doing anything alternative in particular here.
-timeframe- Between "Hot Zone" and "Sanctuary."
-spoilers- For "Hot Zone," and... well, it references something that happened in early SG-1, but something that's fairly general knowledge (and I don't know the episode title, anyway).
-characters- AR-1, Miko, Zelenka, Kavanagh, Simpson, Elizabeth, Bates, et al.
-disclaimer- SGA, of course, is not mine.
-word count- 1464
-summary- The emergency failsafes in the Ancient labs are ATA-compliant.

In the movie, the device appeared to work on the same principle as the Stargate, so I see no reason why it couldn't be equally stolen here. )

fic: Vigilante [Criminal Challenge, Amnesty 2007]

TITLE: Vigilante
SUMMARY: For various reasons, the Monday morning meeting in the Pegasus Special Investigations Division had been put off to Tuesday, which meant less of the usual suspects and more of the unusual suspects.
CATEGORY: AU, drama
RATING: PG-13
NOTES: Um. Cracky. And sort of encouraged by [livejournal.com profile] ileliberte and [livejournal.com profile] triciabyrne1978 in their own ways. :)

Signs of Rapture, Called Apocalypse (Amnesty 2007, Secret Superpowers)

Title: Signs of Rapture, called Apocalypse
Author: 2ndary_author
Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis
Characters: Rodney, Elizabeth, Kate Heightmeyer, (offstage: Sheppard, Beckett)
Rating: PG-13; spoilers for 'Sunday'
Notes:   The first section was written for the Secret Superpowers challenge and then morphed into a Ways to Die challenge. and outgrew flashfic.   As may become apparent, it's a sequel to  Signs Taken for Wonders and other assorted snippets (tagged as signs 'verse over at my journal). It's kind of a loose interpretation of the challenge. Epigraph by David Gerrold

Ex Machina, by Sophonisba [amnesty 2007|city exploration/ways to die challenges]

-title- Ex Machina
-author- Sophonisba ([livejournal.com profile] saphanibaal)
-warnings- Gen. AU. Sort of a crossover, but not one that requires additional knowledge -- it was going to be longer, but then it would have, so I cut it off.
-timeframe- After "Sanctuary."
-spoilers- For "Hot Zone," a minor one for "Sanctuary" that probably everyone knows by now, and... um... the idea that Atlantis as-is is sort of a giant floating deathtrap is probably not actually new to anyone looking at this community, is it?
-characters- Teyla; an Ancient ^_^
-disclaimer- SGA, of course, is not mine. The, er, Ancient originally belonged to Alliance Atlantis (although his language choices were a little different when not speaking to an Athosian). One of the machine labels is gacked from one in a Star Trek: Next Gen novel; I cannot remember the title or who wrote it, but I rather believe it was #5 or #6. Thartessus/Tartessos was a thriving Bronze Age city near the mouth of, I believe, the Guadalquivir, well before the Classical Greek period; some authorities say it was part of the original inspiration for Atlantis, and others think they're wishful-thinking at best.
-word count- 1752
-summary- Teyla runs into a helpful Ancient, for a change. ^_^

Teyla was walking in a long open unexplored hall curving around a tower, outer side floor-to-ceiling glass, when she saw the Ancestor. )

Rating: PG-16

Word Count: 2760

Disclaimer: I don't own them. But if I did, I probably wouldn't turn them into cats.

Exile by cat_77 (Criminal Challenge, Amnesty 2007)

Title: Exile
Season/Spoilers: Post SG-1, Season 4 of SGA
Rating: PG-13
Synopsis: They all had their reasons.
Author’s Notes: For the Criminal challenge. The idea comes from a discussion with my loving partner. Triple Drabble (300 words).
Warnings: Mostly gen, hint of femslash.
Disclaimer: I don’t own them, people with a lot of money do. I’m just borrowing them to play in a non-profit sort of way.

Feedback is always welcomed.

Oceans Over The Horizon by elenariel (amnesty 2007, folklore challenge)

Title: Oceans Over The Horizon
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elenariel
Rating: PG (gen)
Words: 479
Spoilers: None
Summary: The scientists are arguing over a legend; John explains to Teyla and Ronon.
A/N: Mild crack, I know, but this crossover was always going to be like that.

Roads Taken by ariadne83 (backstory challenge, amnesty 2007)

Title: Roads Taken
Author: [personal profile] ariadne83
Rating:
adult
Spoilers: Minor one for Sunday
Word count: 1100
Notes: This is a plot bunny that bit me when I was writing an angsty Mcshep break-up fic that I never had the heart to finish. I'm posting it now in honour of the backstory challenge at SGA flashfic (hooray for amnesty!) Feedback/con crit always appreciated ( I can take it and I so want to get better)
