-title- Ex Machina
-author- Sophonisba (
saphanibaal)
-warnings- Gen. AU. Sort of a crossover, but not one that requires additional knowledge -- it was going to be longer, but then it would have, so I cut it off.
-timeframe- After "Sanctuary."
-spoilers- For "Hot Zone," a minor one for "Sanctuary" that probably everyone knows by now, and... um... the idea that Atlantis as-is is sort of a giant floating deathtrap is probably not actually new to anyone looking at this community, is it?
-characters- Teyla; an Ancient ^_^
-disclaimer- SGA, of course, is not mine. The, er, Ancient originally belonged to Alliance Atlantis (although his language choices were a little different when not speaking to an Athosian). One of the machine labels is gacked from one in a Star Trek: Next Gen novel; I cannot remember the title or who wrote it, but I rather believe it was #5 or #6. Thartessus/Tartessos was a thriving Bronze Age city near the mouth of, I believe, the Guadalquivir, well before the Classical Greek period; some authorities say it was part of the original inspiration for Atlantis, and others think they're wishful-thinking at best.
-word count- 1752
-summary- Teyla runs into a helpful Ancient, for a change. ^_^
( Teyla was walking in a long open unexplored hall curving around a tower, outer side floor-to-ceiling glass, when she saw the Ancestor. )
