Yep! Did a year abroad - October 2002 - May 2003. Some of the best times of my life. I love Dublin. Though it may also be because I managed to cram three years of drinking into one. *g*
Hmm, tips. The James Joyce room in Bewley's on Grafton St is comfy and good for studying. You can buy a pot of tea there, and it's good for two-and-half cups. *g* The libraries are always crowded, so they're not as much fun. The Front Lounge (known as the flounge) was one of my favourite pubs - it's a gay and lesbian bar, but straight-friendly. It's quieter than some places and has comfortable furniture. Not too far from city centre either. Apache Pizza is terribly unPC, but delicious. If you're in the mood for vegetarian or vegan, Cornucopia (it's in the Temple Bar area, I think) is wonderful, fairly inexpensive and filling. The whole Temple Bar area is neat - pubs and Italian ice cream and restaurants. There's a Forbidden Planet on the quays if you're into comics and a neat fruit market on Henry St off of O'Connell. If you can afford it, stick to the secondhand books shops for your light reading; the public libraries aren't very good.
*looks up* Wow - and I could probably go on for ages more. *g* I loved Dublin so much - I still dream about it and miss it. You're going to have so much fun. ^_^
Though I did miss the coffee! I spent my spring break in Spain and France and drank a whole lot of good coffee then. *g*
