Title: Into the Dark
Author: [livejournal.com profile] mad_maudlin
Genre: Gen, though you could take it as preslash if you want.
Rating: PG for one little word
Spoilers: Vaguely for First Contact/Lost Tribe
Summary: "We don't leave our people behind."

A/N: I had two or three things I thought I could sneak in under the deadline, but this is the only one presentable before my bedtime. I have successfully resisted the urge to more directly quote Death Cab for Cutie. Can be thought of as a sequel to another fic I wrote, which is not very good, but I'll link it anyway: Dialogue on the Individuality of Consciousness (The Mega-Mall at the End of the Universe). Speed beta, so pointing out typos would be welcome.

The Not Dead Yet Challenge is, er, getting better (shuttup; it'll be stone cold dead in a minute!) You can read the 42 challenge entries here or using the not dead yet challenge tag.

Author: Lady Anne

In The Dark
by [livejournal.com profile] jennytork

Pairing: N/A, gen teamfic
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Third season.
Word Count: 1877 (Yeah, I know...)
Summary: A routine contact meeting results in Rodney being the only one who can see -- which is a bad thing, when the villagers turn on them and it's up to Rodney to rescue them all.
Disclaimer: They're not mine. Perhaps that's for the best -- I'm mean to my toys.
Warning: One bad word.
Notes: You might recongise the last half of this story. "In the Dark" was originally written as a catchup fic for the "In the Dark" challenge, but people asked for the first part of the story that began in media res. This is the completed story, with the first part written as a response to the "Not Dead Yet" challenge.

Aight, second time's the charm. ^_^ Reposting and now archiving on the comm!

Title: Better Than Cockroaches
Author: theravenwrites
Summary: Uh, there’s really no redeeming way to describe this. Last minute crack, that’s all I can say for it.
Pairing: McShep
A/N: I just want to apologize in advance in general for this story, but also because there’s a bit of Daniel Jackson, but I’ve never watched SG-1, so I doubt his portrayal is accurate.

“I’m afraid,” said a man who looked a lot like traditional paintings of Jesus, down to the sandals hidden under his white robes, “that he just won’t die.” )
[identity profile] saphanibaal.livejournal.com
-title- Guises in Four Seasons: Summer
-author- Sophonisba ([livejournal.com profile] saphanibaal)
-warnings- Some strong language. Takes place in my pet diverging-reality AU, where Sheppard isn't quite Sheppard. Does it ever. Part of a loose series; it shouldn't be necessary to read the other parts, but they're here, here, and here should one wish to do so.
-timeframe- About the end of second year.
-spoilers- Through the beginning of third year, just to be safe.
-characters- Sheppard, Ford
-disclaimer- SGA, of course, is not mine. Nor are any of the tales I have drawn on, although most of them are public domain by now. Certain turns of phrase are directly borrowed from C. S. Lewis, A. A. Milne, and E. Nesbit; another, more loosely, from Robert E. Howard.
-word count- 1408
-summary- Even for the most necessary of conversations, Sheppard still finds it easier to talk about something peripherally related to the subject. At least this time it isn't football.

And here at last is the set complete. )

Death Becomes Him
by MrsHamill

Pairing: Sheppard/McKay
Rating: If children are reading this, I really don't want to know.
Spoilers: Takes place sometime in the early fourth season.
Summary: Rodney finds something he really doesn't like.
Disclaimer: Please enter standard useless boilerplate disclaimer of all intent to damage here.
Warning: Gratuitous overuse of italics.
Notes: Written for the Flashfic challenge "Not Dead Yet," though after this one, I kinda wish I was. God bless [livejournal.com profile] kimberlyfdr, [livejournal.com profile] amireal and [livejournal.com profile] ailurophile6 for their help on this... thing. It was supposed to get me past The Block From Hell and instead it almost melted me down. They're the reason if it's readable at all.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] ellex42
Rated: G
Word Count: ~800
Spoilers: Set between season 4 "Midway" and "The Kindred, part 1"
Gen, with possible inferred McKay/Sheppard

Author's Note: I admit to no responsibility for the crazy, crazy stuff I dream sometimes. I won't even admit to responsibility for actually writing it down, either. In fact, it's all Monty Python's fault. Yeah, that's it: blame him. Them. Whatever. *creeps away quietly*

Summary: John's always been closer to ascension. Uh, wingfic?
Author's Notes: Title comes from the Townes Van Zandt song of the same name. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] longtimegone for lowering her standards to beta this fic. ♥

Also, a warning: the "science" in this fic is about the same quality as the science on the show.

My first offering to this community, written in forty-eight minutes. The idea I had for this last week completely fizzled out. So this is speedy fic indeed. :)

Title: Twelve Days' Breath
Author: Chandri MacLeod
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard established relationship
Characters: mainly The Team
Spoilers: None in particular. Perhaps some very general ones for S4.
Word Count: Uh... 3,580. Oops?

Rodney's never been good with anything that lacked explanation. )

Title - A Life Worth Fighting For
Author - Audrey Lynne
Rating - PG
Pairing - Mentions of Ronon/Melena
Character - Ronon Dex, oc
Spoilers - Runner, Sateda, minor non-plotty stuff for Travelers
Word Count - 1,685
Summary - Ronon/gun - OTP?  A bit of backstory on Ronon, where that gun of his did come from, and life on Sateda before the Wraith.

Notes and random authorial rambling - I still can't believe they named a character who's involved in the medical field "Melena."  The character he encounters in this tale, Lena Dorian, has nothing to do with Melena--she came with the name when she was created for  a SGA roleplay scenario.  The name similarity is a random coincidence, though it amuses me.  (But I'm easily amused.)  And if you really want to know why "Melena" should have at least been spelled differently, go ahead and Google it.  Not for the medically faint of heart. :)

Title: Stop All The Clocks
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elementalv
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Teyla, Ronon, Rodney
Spoilers: Season 4 - Teyla’s arc
Notes: Gen; a bit under 900 words. Also, it kind of gave me the creeps, and I wrote it. Once upon a time, I would have said this tone was unusual for me, but somewhere along the line, I lost my fluff-fu and wandered over to dark!fic territory. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] candymike and [livejournal.com profile] empressvesica for beta duties.
Summary: “Teyla.” Her name sounds more like a curse than anything else, and she supposes she deserves that, given what he’s seen her do over the years.

Title: Past Prologue
Author: Ceitie
Characters: Gen AU. John, Radek.
Rating: PG-13 for language and horror.
Spoilers: Outcast
Words: 1,710
Summary: “No,” Radek answered, sighing. “Atlantis, Ontario, actually. You lived there for two years when you were a child. Do you remember?”
Author's Notes: My title is stolen from Shakespeare, and the plot of this AU is obviously stolen from a rather famous novel by Stephen King. The thought of rewriting the entire story as an AU makes me quail though, so this is just the beginning of that hypothetical AU. Which I'm not writing. Oh, and Stargate: Atlantis doesn't belong to me either.
