That is one of the charming things about this story, I think -- John responds to Rodney getting himself agitated over sex exactly the same way he does in canon when Rodney gets himself agitated over, well, everything else: quit complaining and get it done! It's John's finely honed management strategy, and it normally works just fine. It would have been swell if it had occurred to John that for most people, having sex isn't quite like rewiring a bomb -- but, you know, he's not psychic, and if someone isn't secure enough with their partner to say something out loud when they feel they're not getting what they need, then it's probably not a situation they should be in at all. I mean, really, what would give John the idea that Rodney could or would ever suffer in silence? *g*
Anyway, it's fun to see a story come along that sparks this much interest in the characters' motives and whatnot. Yay for you!
