There go all the road-trip fics I've been thinking of writing. Actually, I like the road trip fics. That's why Elizabeth had to argue with Caldwell to ship Carson off to Scotland. I can't see Caldwell letting Sheppard use the Daedalus to go on a trip to Disneyland. Improper use of military et ceteras.
Rodney really changed in that first year. He's not the same smarmy scientist who pestered Sam Carter all the live-long day. Well, not *just* the same scientist.
