Fascinating. Didn't gross me out at all. For some reason. Maybe 'cause I'm an EMT and have seen some pretty wild things. Anyway, I absolutely love this. The irony. The surprise ending. The reactions of the team to what they're seeing. The slow reveal as the woman describes the surgeries. Makes me wonder if the surgical industry on that planet isn't as big as the housing industry on ours. I love these little fics that say so much. In just a few words you have described an entire culture. Wow!
