“I bet you,” John gestured with a paper ball in his hand, “I can get this in that wastebasket over there.”

Rodney looked up from his desk to glare at John slouched on the other side of his desk.

“Are you kidding me? I have far more important things to be doing.” He went back to typing his report, looking surreptitiously over the laptop screen as John flicked the ball, an effort which overshot the mark entirely to hit the wall instead.

“Oh come on, even I could do better than that.” Rodney burst out.

“Well go on then.” John grinned and tossed another one onto the table, then reached over to snag another sheet from the lab printer’s in-tray.

“Fine. But just one,” Rodney said as he leaned forward to pick it up, “and that’s it. And don’t touch my report.” He added when he saw where John took the paper.

“Whatever you say, Rodney.”

“Rodney have you - ” Elizabeth glanced up from the file as she entered the room and stopped dead. There were paper balls littering the entire floor between a wastebasket by the door and where John and Rodney were sitting, with few actually in their apparent target.

Rodney, frozen with one in his hand, at least had the good graces to look sheepish. John however, looked completely unrepentant.

Her eyes snagged on the nearest piece of screwed up paper, where the title words of Rodney’s report could be seen as it slowly unfolded.

“Is that…?” She peered down at it to be sure. And mentally cursed whoever decided they needed a hard copy of all reports made as part of the Stargate Program.

“You see, Elizabeth…” Rodney trailed off, glanced around, then jabbed his finger at John. “It’s all his fault.”
