Sweet, and true, and funny and sad. One of my mom's favourite sayings is, 'you can't get better from old age'. Lovely as it is to read about John and Rodney and Teyla and Ronon making it to old age, the pain and frailty that goes with it is still a bitter pill to take. But you've nonetheless made it very obvious that they're all happy to be where they are, and together. Pains and silly boots and all. :)

It's sort of a cliche to say this, but I love that all of them have lived to be old together. It's so easy to picture one of them dying at any point in the show or shortly after - I love seeing them aging, surrounded by family and still together rather than scattered across two galaxies.

Other things I loved: Rodney's relationships with all the children, from his grandniece to Teyla and Ronon's families; Rodney and John refusing to move because they built the house they're in; that they still have team movie nights; that for all their aches and pains that complicate their ability to simply sleep curled up together, "Rodney finds it isn't nearly as irritating as he thought it would be." ♥

Also, I would like Teyla's daughter to knit me a cardigan! And Madison's daughter to send me boots! Awwwww. Adorablest.

And this made my imagination make grabby hands

It has the symbols for the six Satedan warrior rituals carved into it, and Rodney nearly fell off his chair when Riikhan presented it to him in a traditional Satedan ceremony honoring veterans. ♥

It is a little more bittersweet than I originally intended, that's for sure. But I like that they're all there together, and sort of get through it with love and companionship.

Nawwww, thank you sweets! I know - my image of their future often doesn't include one or more of them making it to old age. But sometimes, I think, there have got to be futures where they all make it, and they're all still together, and wouldn't it be nice?
