Challenge: Telepathy/ESP challenge
Rating: Teens
Pairings: As always- Weir/Emmagen
Spoilers: The Gift
Timeline: Late season one
Summary: The wraith isn’t her only connection.
A/N: Un'beta read, so all mistake are mine.
Scene: Hospital bay
The Athosian continues to stare at the white ceiling reflecting over recent events.
At least now she knows the truth.
The truth to why her recent dreams have turned into nightmares and why she can sense the wraith and knowing the truth is anything, but a blessing.
Sooner or later her people will discover the truth and as she told Doctor Heightmeyer her people will have a reason to fear her, just like half of the Atlanteans, especially since she attacked her team members. The fear and distrust is more noticeable.
Had Sergeant Bates not stopped her, would she have attacked Doctor Weir? More than likely yes and she would not have given it a second thought.
But she wasn’t in control; she’d been taken over by a wraith.
She was lucky this time, but what about the next time? Who’s to say she won’t be lucky? Who’s to say that she won’t be the one to bring destruction?
And that’s what frightens her, although she won’t admit it-not to herself or to others.
After all she is a leader and a warrior: fearless, strong and one who shows no weakness or remorse. And for her to admit fear, for her to admit that she is frighten and uncertain of what the future holds would be the day, when her people see her as weak, unfit to lead her people to battle and unfit to called a leader-their leader.
She can’t afford to take the risk, all she can do is take it all in her stride and deal with it head on.
Her eyes close briefly, she finds herself struggling to breathe, as a warm feeling shoots through her, voices suddenly fill her mind no, not voices, a voice-Elizabeth’s.
Teyla’s eyes shoot open, the Athosian looks around the bay, she was alone, and other than the beeping of her monitor no other sound can be heard.
Confusion and panic occurs. Why is she hearing the doctor’s voice if she’s alone?
Is she also connected to Doctor Weir? No, that isn’t possible.
Teyla tries to focus on her own thoughts, but alas, it’s of no use, and the fact that Elizabeth’s voice overrides her own thoughts doesn’t help matters, Teyla mutters a curse, before giving in.

Scene: Elizabeth’s quarters.
The cold breeze continues to wrap around the diplomat, who remains lost in thoughts. Her eyes fall onto the ocean below, a sigh escapes her lips.
“Doctor Weir?”
A hand falls onto her shoulder, she feels herself jump, before spinning around. “T-T-Teyla.” She looks at the Athosian in concern and confusion. “Why aren’t you in the infirmary?”
“I am fine, a little tired, but other than that I am fine.” She replies, wondering whether or not the diplomat brought her lie.
She doesn’t. “Teyla, I really think you ought to go back to the infirmary-”
Anger flashes through the Athosian, as her guard falls down. “I am fine.” She snaps. “Regardless of what the rest of the Atlanteans believe I am not about to…” her voice trembles, she briefly, looks at the marble floor. “I am sorry.” She utters, locking eye contact. Not really caring that her guard has slipped. “I did not mean for any of this to happen. I wanted to help, so desperately.”
Elizabeth looks at the Athosian, shocked that she allowed her guard to slip. “I know you did, but I shouldn’t have pushed you-”
The Athosian walks over to the balcony, closing her eyes allowing herself to greet the breeze. “I am fine, as I said. Emotional and physically I am fine.”
“You keeping say that, but I don’t believe you.”
Again anger flashes through the Athosian, her eyes open. “Believe what you want.” She snaps, looking at the ocean. “Your people have never fully trust me and I have tried…” she spins around baring all emotions: from fear to confusion and pain to anger. “…tried so hard to gain your trust, but with the exception of Major Sheppard, Doctor McKay, Doctor Beckett, Aiden and… nobody fully trusts me. I have seen the way your people continue to look at me and after what just happened nobody will ever trust me. Do you know what that feels like?”
Elizabeth sighs, surprising herself by cupping the Athosian’s face. I wish I could take away your pain.
The Athosian hears this thought, choosing to ignore it, she closes her eyes. “Had it not been for Sergeant Bates I would have attacked you.”
I want to be there for you. “I know that.”
“Does that not frighten you?”
I want to hold you. “No.”
Teyla’s eyes open. “Liar.”
I want to kiss you. “I trust you.”
Teyla smiles, faintly. “Had I attacked you…”
I want us to become one. “But you didn’t.”
Again the Athosian ignores this. “…I would not have forgiven myself.”
The diplomat finds her throat drying up, as she looks at the younger woman in surprise and confusion. Suddenly her hands begin to feel clammy against the Athosian’s skin. “What?”
“It would be harder. What I feel for Major Sheppard, Doctor McKay, Doctor Beckett and Aiden is that of friendship, but with you I feel so much more and I know the feeling is mutual.”
Her heart begins to beat faster. “How?”
“Whilst I was in the infirmary I heard your voice…or rather read your thoughts.”
WHAT? Elizabeth walks away from the younger woman, confusion spreading over her features. Does that mean she’s been reading my thoughts, since she first got here? “How is that possible?”
“I’m not sure. You need not worry, it only started today.”
Elizabeth finds herself at a loss. “I’m going to need some time to think Teyla.”
The Athosian sighs. “I said too much.”
You could say that. “No. It’s just I need some time.”
“I know it is wrong for me to read your thoughts, but I cannot seem to stop them.”
Her head lowers. “Does that mean you can read them right now?”
The Athosian walks over to the older woman, lifting her chin. “Yes.”
Her eyes flicker upwards at Teyla. “Could you go?”
She looks at the diplomat in confusion. “Should we not talk about this?”
“Not right now, no.”
“I’m attracted you, just like you are attracted to me.”
“So you’ve said, but, this? This is too much.”
“When do you to talk?”
“I’m not sure. I...I just need to sleep on it.”
Teyla sighs. “Very well.” She says, before walking away.
Suddenly she stops.
Before Elizabeth can even think of speaking, she finds herself pinned against the wall, as the Athosian’s fingers entwine with hers, Teyla’s soft, moist lips crash against her own.
Once more her throat becomes dry. This is wrong. She thinks, closing her eyes, before parting her lips and allowing the Athosian’s moist tongue to enter.
