I've loved coming here and reading everyone's wonderful fic and since I finally got a livejournal of my own today I thought I would try and give a little something back.
Title: - Broken Promises
Author: - Katt
Rating: - PG
Pairing: - Sheppard/McKay
Warning: - Deathfic
Disclaimer: - I don’t own any of the characters of Stargate Atlantis, and no infringement was intended.
Pulling his knees up to his chest and wrapping his arms around them John squeezed himself as tight as he could to stop himself from flying apart. Rodney had left him.
All those whispered words of love were meaningless. Promises of “always”, “forever” and “eternity” lying broken in a thousand pieces on the floor.
John had let himself believe. He’d believed that this time things would be different. He’d believed that this time he wouldn’t get hurt. He’d trusted Rodney. Yet here he was feeling as if his heart and soul had been ripped out and destroyed.
He ignored the urgent voice calling his name, sounding small and distant in his ear. He shivered and stared, unable to tear his gaze away, knowing that even if he closed his eyes he’d still “see”.
Looking into Rodney’s open eyes John could see the emptiness in them. All that Rodney had been was gone. Bled out of him drop by precious drop onto the cave floor while they’d waited for rescue.
Despite John’s pleading for Rodney not to leave him alone, despite John’s hands becoming bloody trying to keep all of Rodney’s life inside him, despite all of John’s tears – Rodney had abandoned him.
