Between ages 12 and 14 (what? I had liberal upbringing) I used to read tons of Harlequin books. Then of course other stuff happened and I finally got sick of them because really, for every good satisfyheart-wrenching romance there were dozens and dozens of horrible sap fests with appalling use of language.
Your fic is a prime example that a cliche is a cliche for a reason. Because when done well, it can be so very satisfying and delicious. Plus this was way hotter than anything i read in my teens... After all, it had Rodney in it.
