I really, really liked this! Usually stories that play off the shared-actor thing are kind of awkward, but this really brilliantly uses the uncertainty that comes built into the action-scifi setting: because, you know, not even as weird as half the things that happen on Atlantis! So both the reader and Rodney are sort of equally torn between "Well, that's a hell of a stretch" and "not so weird, when you stop to think about it." I think I would have liked the story equally well whichever way it had ended; the interesting part was watching Rodney walk that line between "this is stupid, I'm just grieving" and "this really could be!" (Also, excellent Ford! He's just so *up* all the time, and I could totally see that being his defining characteristic in Rodney's eyes.)
