Laura grinned as she laid out her cards. "Full house, girls. Beat that!"

Kate, Elizabeth, Katie, Miko, Simpson and Biro groaned as they tossed down their cards. Teyla, however, tilted her head thoughtfully. "I am still new to this game, but did you not state that give 'face' cards is good?"

Kate stared at Teyla. This was only the Athosian's third game. Surely she didn't... "Yes, it is."

While Laura was frowning, Elizabeth slowly grinned. "Show us your cards, Teyla."

Teyla's face was serene as she set down her cards one by one. King of spades. Queen of spades. Jack of spades. Ten of spades.

Everyone stared in shock; everyone but Laura. The marine grinned. She had the nine of spades in her hand. Her victory was safe. Teyla's serene smile turning smug as she laid down her final card.

Ace of spades.

"I believe this beats your hand, Lieutenant."

The others laughed at Laura's flummoxed look.

"But. But." Laura sputtered for another minute before sighing. "Fine. Fine. You win. Enjoy."

Teyla collected the chocolates and other treats they used for currency. She herself really only cared for the 'plain' chocolate bars, but Rodney loved, well, pretty much everything else. She had learned early on to carry sweets on missions for her teammate, but most her these would be a gift to Colonel Sheppard. Her secret, you see, was the nightly lessons from both him and Rodney.

Rodney said he'd take a bars plus whatever 'gossip' she heard at the games. It would appear that Laura's comment about knowing 'a lot' about him made the scientist a tad paranoid. Well, more than usual.

Colonel Sheppard, however, had confided to her his 'mission' to woo their teammate. Since seeing both men happy made her happy (not to mention improved Rodney's mood considerably) she was more than willing to comply.

But the other women needn't know that.
