(Okay, is anybody else but me having an elf flashback? Just me then? Righty-o!)

So look, clearly I was not anticipating the popularity of this challenge, and also how many brilliant photoshopping poets we have out there, because seriously--this rocks. ROCKS like a thing that rocks (say, a rocking horse.) These postcards are like brilliant haikus. And the best of them are freaking me out in really wonderful ways.

But I am selfish powerhungry-type person who wants what she wants--and I want STORIES to go with these! (And so does Waldo and Giddy and the rest of you who emailed me or posted to LJ: *waves*) (I'm assuming that many of you are, in fact, writing Post Secret stories, but that they're taking a bit longer than 24 hours to put together. Y'all keep going!) But I'm reading these postcards and going--ohhh, I want to know more about THAT. And THAT. And--THAT!

So--let'ts totally go apeshit here. Let's expand the challenge and encourage people to write stories based on the postcards! Think of the postcard as cover art--THOUGH OBVIOUSLY, CREDIT THE POSTCARD WRITER, PEOPLE! BECAUSE SHE IS YOUR DE FACTO COLLABORATOR!

Yes, there can be more than one story per card, so it's not a one-shot deal. Also, if anybody's going, OMG, not my postcard, please no, please go and edit your postcard entry to say, "Not offered for fiction," or "Please, no stories," and people will respect your wishes (and I'll delete 'em if they don't.) But I'm hoping that most of you will be happy if one or more people are inspired by your work to write something. I'd take it as a huge compliment, myself!

Depends if Rodney's involved or just fantasizing, I guess.

look... I don't know if this is the appropiate place to say it, but given the huge response (and the fact that it got me, who can't write anything decent, to open photoshop), maybe it would be to open a community for this kind of graphics, just like there was a comm for the harlequin fic. How did that go?

[livejournal.com profile] fandom_secret was mostly sga secrets, but no one's posted there in many months.

Oh, that's so cool? See, I had no idea it existed. Maybe it would be nice for the mods to pimp it so that if people are still interested after the challenge ends, people can go there.

THANK YOU. I love the postcards, but I don't think I could take two more weeks of just those.

Any chance you'd be willing to ask people to distinguish whether their post is a story or just a postcard in their headers? I'm interested in the stories but I can tell I won't have time to open every entry to see if there's a story.

All I can say is, having dial-up *sucks*. I may go in to work tomorrow even if it's cancelled due to snow, just so I can use the high-speed internet access.

Thank you for the encouragement of stories.

If I already wrote a corresponding story in the comments of a post, should I re-post it in a entry?
