In retrospect I think my 'treating Rodney like a whore' comment might seem overly harsh. By that I just meant that as far as John was concerned Rodney could've been anybody willing to have sex with John, and Rodney's thoughts, feelings and desires were irrelevant, which is how you treat a whore, you know? I can see John telling himself, and believing, that it was a buddy-fuck, but if he'd given Rodney any consideration at all he would've realized that Rodney wasn't in the same place. Which, again, you can script an encounter with a whore any way you like inside your head; if you don't care enough to consider how s/he's thinking about it there's nothing to contradict your version.

I really enjoyed the process of seducing Rodney.

I'm going to have to re-read it and see if I can't appreciate the seduction from a purely physical point of view. I have to confess that on first reading I was too reminded of unpleasant real life sexual encounters to appreciate it as porn.
