With the repeating phrasing of "a thousand people", I wished Rodney had said "Are you volunteering to be the first, Elizabeth?" Because that would give a momentary shock as even Rodney would seem creepy for just an instant, and because I'm sure you could find a disturbing way for Elizabeth to wriggle out of it.
And a correction: No one carries a revolver in Atlantis or the SGC. Say "pistol" or "9mm".
