I followed this link from a comments rec in seperis's lj, and now I'm really glad that I did. The creeping sense of horror is very well done without ever quite having things crawl out fully into the light. And the sense where John is taken over, somewhat, is very Lovecraftian in its depiction of the way that he slowly loses his grip on 'normal'. I nearly wrote 'reality', but that wouldn't have been right.

And Rodney as depicted is the only guy still with his marbles. I wonder how long that'll last. *shiver*
