Summary: John had always thought it would be cool to have a superpower.


John had been a small child. He didn't have a lot of friends. But this didn't bother him much he had his comic books. He'd always thought it would be cool to have a superpower or two. Flying and invulnerability were at the top of his list.

Eventually he grew and no longer seemed to be the small geeky boy he once was. But he kept on reading comics right up until he left for the Air Force, and he never stopped thinking it would be cool to have superpowers.

Then one thing lead to another and his military career was in the toilet. But they were still letting him fly even though it was in Antarctica. Then they let him see inside the base he been flying to, and he sat in the wrong chair and discovered aliens and technology only some people could operate, and few as well as he could. And that he decided was a pretty cool superpower to have.
