I am deeply impressed by your portrayal of Teyla and her relationship with Rodney and the world she ends up in. You have highlighted so many things I love about her in the show: pragmatism, loyalty, a bit of a temper, keen intelligence and diplomacy, and the ability not to kill Rodney -g- Also sexy as all get out.
I also liked Rodney's realisations about his own fantasies and misconceptions. It would have been easy to write a story where he realised this because he was a slave, but this feels way more powerful.
I'm not overly fond of the world, which seems to rest on the premises that: a) the Confederacy would not have eventually abolished slavery. b) The Allies would have lost WWII without American help. c) The entire population of Africa has absolutely no agency of its own. d) Despite Europe, the CSA, and Africa being racist and oppressive and Canada being relatively free, all of the social-concious scientists and thinkers didn't move to Canada as they have historically (and therefore it would have had enough science that Rodney wouldn't have needed to stay in the CSA, and everyone could have skedaddled post haste). However, given an infinite multiverse, anything's possible.

Again, beautiful characterisation!
