[livejournal.com profile] sapphiresmuse suggested that we have a challenge wherein, "Something and/or someone gets stuck to someone, be it by glue, epoxy, some form of adhesive or even something mental or Ancient forcing physical adhesion." And you know, seriously, the possibilities here range from the wackiness of "I Love Lucy," to shipwrecks and chaingangs and just, it's a whole barrel of fannish joy, ain't it?

Stick it somewhere by December 11th, at midnight eastern.

Ahaha! There's irony for you! Yesterday evening I plotted out a story that uses this exact idea -- then decided not to write it because I've got too many going already. Guess now I have no choice, eh?

When I read this I had a sudden vision of Team Sheppard throwing themselves gleefully at a velcro wall...

Please tell me someone remembers the time in the 80s when David Letterman put on a velcro suit and threw himself at a velcro wall? (Or even the ever-fabulous suit of suet?)

Here I was thinking of a possible story were someone's hands got superglued to a bedframe, and I get home to discover this. ;3 Obviously there's some serendipity at work here.

May I inquire if there will be an amnesty this year? I missed some challenges that intrigued me, but I might have a story ready around New Year's.

Coolness! *g*

I can hardly wait to read all the "sticky" problems. Wish I had time to attempt one. Oh well, one of these days maybe I'll get around to tackling it, challenge or no.

Heck, it was simply fun reading the comments to the challenge. LOL

How do you go about suggesting challenges anyway? Cuz there was some talk over at genrefinders (http://community.livejournal.com/sgagenrefinders/60647.html?view=371431&style=mine#t371431) that there really should be a 'Not human' challenge sometime. So that we get all our, 'Sorry, I was really an alien all along' cravings out of the way...

Wheee! What is the amnesty thing about actually? I've been wondering for years.

Have you ever considered a "double" challenge? Duplicates, doppelgängers, doubling down (as in gambling) or double action (as in backgammon), doubles (as in tennis), body doubles, double (the baseball play or snooker shot), double variation (the musical form), "double your pleasure / double your fun" -- the possibilities are endless.

::facepalm::

Kindly retract this suggestion; [livejournal.com profile] nestra just pointed me to the doppelganger challenge (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/tag/doppelganger+challenge), which I don't know how I'd missed. (Man. Right before I fell into the fandom. D'oh!)

Ever considered a pirates!challange? I mention it only because of this strange foreign plotbunny who nibbled me in the ear last night - I'd been watching pirates of the caribean (AWE), and I had the plotbunny of John's mother's maiden name being Turner, and his Godfather's name being Jack...

"You know," Rodney said, as he watched Jack swagger across the deck, "that explains a lot."
