Well, the first person present tense (plus italics!) combo served a very specific purpose for this story. But I have to admit, if I'd realized how long some of those flash-forwards were going to turn out, I might have decided to do it differently -- though I'm not sure exactly how. I might have only dispensed with the italics, and then you wouldn't have gotten the clue that let you continue past the first sentence! Anyway, I'm glad you were able to put up with the icky first person long enough to enjoy -- thanks for your comments!
