Summary: Ep 5x23: Distress

Sheppard and Carter interrogate the captured Trust agent, uncovering a conspiracy that may span two galaxies. Meanwhile, disturbing dreams of her son worry Teyla who fears that the IOA won't allow Atlantis to return to Pegasus, family trouble prompts Dr. Keller to make a decision that will seriously alter her relationship with McKay and, Ronon takes drastic tonsorial action to uphold a Satedan tradition.

I've had a couple ideas about that which I'll share because I'm not using them.

Atlantis is infiltrated and hijacked off the planet along with a skeleton crew under threat or if the IOA, etc, remain intent on keeping the whole stargate and aliens thing classified, then they have to fly Atlantis away, because keeping it cloaked 24/7 will drain the ZPMs in a couple of weeks. They send Atlantis back to Pegasus because there are too many enemies eager to take the city for it to be safe anywhere in the Milky Way.

They did! They did get infiltrated last week! And now... eep. that would be a spoiler for next week. You know I've actually plotted these out to the mid-season two parter. *facepalm*

Fantastic! I always do find the blurbs more enjoyable than the shows, because there's just enough there for me to imagine the perfect episode.

These little blurbs are so perfect I immediately thought, 'idiot writers!' because Sheppard and Carter are terrible interrogators and they're on Earth, they can bring in experts, psychologists, doctors with no ethics about administering drugs, someone Obama's put out of a job...

Then I remembered, *facepalm* it isn't even a real show anymore.

I want to see your phantom sixth season, dammit.

Especially the episode where Rodney becomes suspicious of the way Sheppard keeps disappearing and follows him, afraid the Trust have somehow got their hooks into him, only to discover Sheppard's taking a cloaked jumper out every night, sneaking into San Francisco and slutting around with all sorts of pretty things. The episode with the extra warning for full frontal nudity.

You know Rodney has nuclear explosion of jealousy (and worry) over John sleeping around. There's that scene three quarters of the way through the ep where Jennifer and Rodney fight because he's more jealous of John's action than her having dinner with that guy she used to sleep with in med school. The one who wants her to take a job in Wisconsen.

Of course, someone overhears the arguement and the episode closes on a ominious scene of them, face obscured, reporting back that Sheppard may be vulnerable to blackmail...

And we'll have to tune in next week.

I'm not going to take it too far off canon format though -- that's really what legitimate fanfic is for, imo -- because my wish is for the regular show to be back on the air, with all it's goodness and badness except, you know, without the really unbearable badness. Oh and acres of subtext instead of serious shippiness.

As it happens, Rodney had a bad break up with a guy from Jamaica when he was an impressionable teenager, and Rodney's had unfortunate associations with dreads ever since. Once Ronon undergoes the Satedan Rite of Renewal, (which he totally made up, he just got tired of the look) Rodney takes a second look at his teammate and the greatest intergalactic romance in history is born.

This is just a WIP for now, pretty PG, but I promise it will be NC-17 by at least chapter 42.

What? Someone has to write the non-OTP fanfic of the faux season six episodes.
