OCs are perfect when used like this, precisely because they allow us to see a single place and all the interactions in it, the little pieces that the reader can place in context of the greater universe even as the static character is bewildered, or making their own connections within their own story. We're not forced to follow at the heels of the headliners, as the show must do. This was a wonderful story. I hope to read more :)
