Title - A Life Worth Fighting For
Author - Audrey Lynne
Rating - PG
Pairing - Mentions of Ronon/Melena
Character - Ronon Dex, oc
Spoilers - Runner, Sateda, minor non-plotty stuff for Travelers
Word Count - 1,685
Summary - Ronon/gun - OTP?  A bit of backstory on Ronon, where that gun of his did come from, and life on Sateda before the Wraith.

Notes and random authorial rambling - I still can't believe they named a character who's involved in the medical field "Melena."  The character he encounters in this tale, Lena Dorian, has nothing to do with Melena--she came with the name when she was created for  a SGA roleplay scenario.  The name similarity is a random coincidence, though it amuses me.  (But I'm easily amused.)  And if you really want to know why "Melena" should have at least been spelled differently, go ahead and Google it.  Not for the medically faint of heart. :)

Squeaking in, under the wire, because my bitter dislike of the cold made me need to write this challenge, and the idea has been percolating in my head for awhile.

Title - Cold Hands, Warm Heart
Author - Audrey Lynne
Category - Gen, pre-Atlantis
Characters - Elizabeth Weir, Radek Zelenka
Rating - PG-13 for language
Warnings - None
Spoilers  - None

Summary - Sometimes you need to meet someone who bolsters your faith in humanity.  A chance encounter gives Elizabeth that warm, fuzzy feeling.  Years later, she has a chance to repay the favor...only it involves going to one of the coldest places on Earth.

Wow, I've been loving this challenge, both the serious entries and the not-so-serious ones.  This one definitely falls into the not-so-serious category.

Title: Leader of the Laundromat
Author: Audrey Lynne
Pairing: Rodney/Radek
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: None needed :)
Spoilers: None
Category: Humor, AU, John-Rodney friendship
Summary: John and Rodney do their laundry.  And talk.  And if things like autoerotic asphyxiation and other undignified ways to die come up, along with the death of Rodney's single status...well, that's just par for the course around this place.  Part of The Bar AU, found at [profile] thebarsga.  No need to read the other stories first, though you're welcome to.  Just know that they live in Manhattan, Rodney plays piano at a bar called Atlantis, and John at the bar is a friend of his.  Oh, yeah, and Rodney's dating a totally hot Czech professor.

Title: The Ghost of You and Me
Author: Audrey Lynne
Rating: R, for frequent and shameless use of the f-word in applicable situations
Pairing: Rodney McKay/Radek Zelenka
Warnings: Deathfic...except not really.  You'll see what I mean.
Spoilers: Through "Tao of Rodney," nothing after that
Summary: We all accept loss differently, and Rodney likes to refuse to accept it at all.  It's a good thing he started believing in ghosts after coming to Atlantis.
Notes: I apologize for splitting it into two parts, but it wouldn't fit as one and I lack a proper website to post it.  This popped into my head and wouldn't leave me alone 'til it was written.

Title: Life, Luck, and Other Mysteries
Author: Audrey Lynne, aka [profile] audreysmagic
Rating: R for language, PG-13 if you count that all the higher-level cussing is in Czech or Russian :)
Warnings: None
Spoilers: None
Crossover with: SG1, but only a minor character
Characters: Radek Zelenka, Colonel Chekov (I named him Andrei)
Category: Gen, pre-Atlantis, drama - with a little humor sprinkled in and some good old fashioned h/c for Radek
Summary: A bit of backstory for Radek because it fit in with the offered challenge.  And because I love Colonel Chekov, he got to play too.  When hiding out in dark alleys in the Ukraine, one has to be careful who they trust.  And when one's companion happens to be a smartass Czech rebel...things can get downright interesting.
Author's Note: I can't write in Russian, because my Russian sucks, nor can most of you read it.  So unless otherwise noted, assume they're speaking Russian, even though it's in English  ;-D  (Except where I used specific terms for effect.)  Translations of terms used at the end.

Title: Concrete Angel
Author: Audrey Lynne
Pairings: None
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Discussion of child abuse.
Characters: Elizabeth, Carson near the end
Spoilers: None, though the end of the fic is set at the beginning of Season 2 when the senior staff was on Earth.

Summary: The worst scars aren't always physical.

Notes: Bear with me, the story starts out with Elizabeth's mom, but it had to be told the way it was.  I think you'll understand at the end.  This struck me when listening to Martina McBride's "Concrete Angel."  The spirit of this fic is dedicated to two very dear children I worked with, Matthew and Carly, who had incredible survival spirits...as well as the ones who weren't so lucky. Even if kids do get lucky and get out, they often still have lifelong issues...I don't do PSAs with my fic-notes as a rule, but this is a subject near and dear to my heart, given my line of work.

Title: The Best-Laid Schemes of Mice and Men
Author: Audrey Lynne
Pairing: None (gen)
Rating: PG
Summary: Elizabeth takes Carson's gene therapy. Things don't go as expected.
Spoilers: Through "Poisoning the Well"

Author's notes: This story is spawned by some of my own fascination with genetics, a bit of meta speculation on the ATA gene, and my musings about the limitations of the gene therapy. I've been meaning to write this for awhile, but the SGA Flashfic "sickness" challenge spurred me to get on it. The title, of course, is from a well-known Robert Burns quote--"The best-laid schemes of mice and men gang aft agley." It seemed appropriate, as Burns was a Scottish poet; "gang aft agley" is, of course, more commonly translated as "often go awry." This story takes place shortly after the first-season episode "Poisoning the Well," spoilers up to and through that episode. And, yeah, a fic intended to meet a 1,000 word fic challenge goes 8,500 words--what word limit? We don't need no stinking word limit! Consider yourselves lucky...this fic is short by my standards! Scary, no?

Folow the fake-cut the webpage to read (LJ won't let me do it all in one post, pooh.)

(Carson Beckett looked back over his shoulder briefly to offer his patient a smile before he finished prepping a syringe to deliver a dose of the ATA gene therapy.)
