Title: Artist
Author: Rhi (stormydawn111)
Challenge: Amnesty (ESP, 38 Minutes)
Rating: G
Pairing: McKay/Zelenka, if you want it to be
Summary: Radek understood him.
Words: 100
Notes: This is my first fic for this fandom (though, it's more of a drabble, really). 10 minutes from conception to completion, unbeta'd. Written for the ESP Challenge, but was previously scared to post it. Feedback (good or bad) is welcome and appreciated.

Radek understood him.

Not that Rodney would admit it out loud; he rarely admitted it to himself. But he counted on Radek to help him think.

Radek knew what he was thinking almost before he thought it, the point to his counterpoint, working through theories and ideas together without a word spoken.

Theories and ideas were nothing new for Rodney, of course, he had them in spades. But the kinds of ideas, the off-the-wall, powering-the-city-with-lightning, how-in-the-hell-will-this-ever-work ideas, he'd never dream them up by himself. For those, he needed Radek.

Alone, Rodney was a scientist.

With Radek, he was an artist.

Awww! I think the idea behind this is abolutely beautiful. Everyone shows the bad relationships Rodney has with his scientists (yelling at them and making them cry and all) but this is arare show of friendship, even if Rodney will never admit to it.

Wonderful little drabble. it made me smile. :)

[livejournal.com profile] daemonluna indulges me and lets me watch over her shoulder while she creates amazing pictures out of my ideas. Plus, mine's a David Hewlett quote: his way of looking at the series. Canadians represent!

Nice work--as others have said, the ending has a great punch, perfect for a drabble. A few notes: lightning, not lightening; "he'd never have dreamed up on his own" is a sentence fragment, might possibly work better as "he'd never dream them up by himself". If you'd like it to be a true drabble, you could also change "with barely a word spoken" to "without a word spoken". Those two changes, by my word count, would get you to exactly one hundred. And, hey, if you can do this in ten minutes, I think we should get you to devote even more time to it: the results, I'm sure, would be awesome.

Neat
