Though Duty Keep Us Parted

From the moment she looked into his hazel eyes and felt the air crackle between them, Elizabeth knew that she was deeply in trouble. Gone were the thoughts of her lover, Simon and her attention to duty and responsibility faded in the light of his smile. In spite of her best efforts to resist him, John Sheppard called to her with his soulful expressions, his voice of rough velvet, his unshaven jaw and his lingering streak of nobility and heroism.

Her soul trembled in the Atlantis night, longing for his touch. She yearned to feel the touch of his lips against her skin, and the caress of his hands on her body, longed for the sound of his voice calling for her - only for her.

Yet the harsh requirements of her role as expedition leader forced her to keep distant from him, she dared not give in to the desires of her heart. For, through his actions, John was responsible for destroying all hope of her people finding easy peace in the Pegasus galaxy...

Oh my god, you can't *tease* us like that, not knowing if love conquers all!

Snerk.

*snort* That's so deliciously awful. :o)
And you know, it's scary how much ff.n Sheppard/Weir fic is actually similar if not the same as this. Hypothetically speaking. If I was masochistic enough to read it in moments of boredom. Hypotheteically speaking, because if I was reading it, my brain would have imploded and I wouldn't be here writing this.
Uhm.

Ok, you know how when you get an ice cream headache, your forehead scrunches up and your eyes cross and your back teeth hurt and you kind of want to stab your forehead hard with an icepick six or seven times fast? (Or is that just me? :P)

It's so bad, but so wonderfully horrid! *cringes happily*

heh.

It sounds like the "Come To Atlantis; you probably won't die right away and the guys are way hot" brochure.

Nope. I'm sure it's indirectly inspired by him, but not consciously, anyway. (g)

I think the original Pratchett quote was "city motto, you might not die." I'm pretty sure it was said by Vimes.

Ah, it's so sadly realistic for a romance. :)

'specially since Weir, much as I think she's quite cool, doesn't have much of a bosom for any heaving...

We always have that, true.

I'm at 1.11 -- and really interested to see where the writers take this whole thing, the relationships. This is such an ensemble show with buddy-cop elements; I can't feel any romantic vibes -- even Angel, ensemblest of them all, had more sizzle, with Kate, and Darla, some forced Cordy, and hey, I'm babbling about shows you prolly don't even care for!

0 :-)

But I offer you a pretty, self-made Sheppard icon. Mmh. Sheppard.
