Hi Shannon!
Welcome back. How was Vermont? Hope the kids enjoyed themselves. You missed a great meeting last week - although we still haven't decided where the Christmas party is going to be this year.
We've got a new model coming in to pose for the covers next week. His name's Jason and I think the readers will really like him. (Think rippling muscles, gorgeous and dreads that set off his face wonderfully.)
Anyway, down to actual business. Here are the details of the five books due out on 30th September. (I rather like the sound of the third one; I'll definitely be reading that one...)
Kay.
Czech Mate
Someone is targeting the players in the 2005 International Chess Championships. When Special Agent Elizabeth Weir is assigned to watch Czech Grand Master Radek Zelenka she finds herself drawn to him. But when all the clues to the killer's identity start to point to Radek, she finds herself drawn. Is Radek the killer they are searching for, or is he next on the list of targets?
Chain Reaction
When a patient with multiple injuries and no recollection of how he got them comes into Dr Carson Beckett's Emergency Room, the Scottish doctor finds himself strangely attracted to young man. So when the CIA comes looking for the mysterious Aiden Ford, Carson finds himself agreeing to help him escape. Now the two of them are on the run and trying to stop a global catastrophe. But the question is: will they succeed, or will the CIA find them first?
Pretty Physicist
When Rodney McKay's grant money runs out he finds himself with no other option than signing up with an escort agency. When he is hired by John Sheppard, a billionaire who needs a date for his cousin's wedding, the two of them find out that a simple business arrangement starts to become much, much more.
Peace of the Action
Detective Ronon Dex is assigned to the security detail covering the peace conference taking place in his city. He expects the protests and the long hours. What he doesn't expect is Teyla Emmagan, the daughter of one of the diplomats. When Teyla is kidnapped in an effort to blackmail her father, Ronon has only 24 hours to find her, before he loses her forever.
Cautious Hearts
When David Markham and Michael Stackhouse find themselves attracted to each other, it could risk both of their careers in the US Air Force. But when David is shot down over enemy territory and captured, Michael realises that he's willing to risk everything for the man who owns his heart.

Date: 2014-11-13 01:19 am (UTC)Ahahahaha! I know this was written ridiculously long ago for me to comment now, but I wanted you to know how very much I enjoyed your entry in this challenge. I second every letter of
Ohmigawd, just imagine the possibilities: The escort service has to stop e-mailing Rodney any details beyond when to be ready & what to wear because, after he Googles the clients, their histories & the event (if any) they're attending, he sends the clients advice on how to sound & behave like a rational human being with two brain cells to rub together, which I assume you do want or you wouldn't've requested me; & while I'm on the topic, you really need to get your company's entire R&D division fired because they're utter idiots & if no one else there has the brights to realize it, you might as well get the credit & show your appreciation for my due diligence in an appropriate way... which I have to say because the agency says I'm not allowed to request a perfectly reasonable fee for professional services rendered, as completely unfair to me and you as that is.... and so on, until only the most self-assured & open-minded clients will even meet Rodney for their assignations.
Fortunately for Rodney, a couple of those self-assured clients were valued & extremely wealthy customers who made it clear to the escort service that Rodney had made them a great deal more money or solved a problem no one else could, to their great benefit. Furthermore, since the escorts' contracts forbid them from accepting any sort of private arrangement with clients, if Rodney wasn't available the next time the clients called, the agency would not continue to benefit from their patronage or referrals. Thus the impecunious genius & the dubious agency continued to bump along together until billionaire John Sheppard called to request an escort who could help him survive his upcoming family gathering &, ideally, prevent his grey matter from melting & running out of his ears....
~ Si-i-igh-h ~ Any other of the proposed titles (particularly "Peace of the Action"--what a multi-level play on words!--or "Cautious Hearts") would be fantastic too. Is there any chance you might consider coming back to any of these ideas at this late date? In support of the idea, remember that a number of eminent fen & writers also commented that these "bookjacket blurbs" sounded amazingly appealing; & that SGA fandom is, in general, mad for AUs & Harlequins.... Oh, & cheerleading & possibly bribes would be readily available! ;-)
In any case, thanks so much for discovering & sharing this wonderful 'Harlequin Books e-mail' with us! I enjoyed it very much, & you can tell it inspired further happy imaginings too. :-)
