Mission Accomplished
It was with a sense of contented accomplishment that she watched him leave her behind.
After all, this was the goal she had been striving towards these last two years. All the time and effort concentrated on this one project and it had finally worked! While influencing events to move in the direction her people desired without revealing herself had proved difficult and unbelievably frustrating at times, the truth to tell, she had been lucky in her assignment.
*Her* subject had been relatively easy to work with. The more difficult ones were those who needed extensive guidance in solving key theories. She did not envy the majority of her colleagues, faced with trying to teach their subjects new concepts without ever revealing themselves.
Her latest subject hadn't required much manipulation at all. When the proper variables were presented, he almost always arrived at the appropriate solution. Her job had primarily consisted of 'arranging' events to make sure he was in the right place at the right time for developments to proceed according to plan.
Yes, thought the Furling known as "Schrödinger" by her human subject, I was lucky to be assigned RodneyMckay. And finally the Humans are in Atlantis! With a purely internal sigh of content, she concentrated on grooming her tail and wondered how long til her next assignment.

Date: 2006-03-16 08:52 pm (UTC)And...and *of course* his cat was his muse! You did notice he had a framed photo of a cat by his bed-side in Duet, right? Admittedly a different cat, but that just proves the point, cats are very important to Rodney. *g*
Isn't it great the way we can even use set-dressings to justify things in this fandom? *hee*
