I unloaded a whole bunch about this on poor Corinna above (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/355326.html?thread=13564670#t13564670), but suffice it to say, i don't get the shame thing when it comes to virginity. As I said up there: there are people who have beliefs, and there are people who haven't had opportunities, and there are people who just haven't liked the available sexual options, and, like, I just don't get where any of these things are pathetic: it's just meanness, really, that makes people think or say so. and I have no problem at all believing that three of them, at least, are canonically virgins (I can believe they're not virgins too, no problem, but I'm saying--I don't think there's something about the COOLNESS of their CHARACTERS that makes virginity impossible: I was a very cool virgin once!) And I don't see where it's a big deal.

Also--yes, in the sense that John's found love and sex together, he's right when he says that he's lost his virginity in a much more profound way than Rodney has, and so there!
