This one is pulled from our backlog of suggestions, a bit of good old Terran nostalgia:

They're back on Earth, they never left Earth; they left Earth, and now they're going back. Alone or together, as punishment or reward, defeated or victorious, AU or canon -- real Earth or fake, for that matter (do we really look that picky?)

We have a perfectly nice little blue-green planet here -- time to put it to some use. The who, the how, and the why are, as always, left as an exercise for the writer. =)

eta: This challenge will remain open until July 9!

Questions/future challenge suggestions welcome in comments!

I have a suggestion for a challenge, although it invites crackfic on a level not seen since the Harlequin challenge: an original character challenge. Sues or side characters or whatever, but stick an OC in the SGA-verse and see what happens.

*shrug* Just a thought.

I still think a good challenge would be an evil or 'dark side' challenge. Like, say, something a simple as exploring Ronon's harder days, the possiblity of the Wraith using Teyla for their purposes, Rodney employing his knowledge (and memorized command codes, per tLG) to take over the city, or bringing out the dangerous side of Sheppard. How about the fannish belief that the Ancients weren't as benevolent as the TPTB imply? Or a Wraith-POV story? Or examine the ethics of Carson's retrovirus? Anything involving a evil-er shade of our heroes and their adventures will do.

oh oh! *Dark side* More in the theme of Jenn's 'Crimes Against Humanity' would fry my poor little brain in the best way possible :D

Am I even more of a loser that I checked to make sure you added a date? < / pathetic micromanaging fangirl >

Meanwhile, we are fine and landed in Capetown this afternoon! Tell the tribe, if you see 'em. And write me some damn SGA, yo.

Hey I realized I made a mistake with my post (new and all and it was night time at the time), so feel free to disqualify or whatever you want with the fic. I cross posted it to my journal before hand - didn't realize I wasn't suppose to till now. I apologize for that and again feel free to do whatever you want. Hopefully I'll get it right the next time around. :)

Micromanaging from Africa: You can't have it both places, so you've got to delete it one place. I'm deleting it from flashfic now. THe other way to handle it is to make your link point to a post here: you're allowed to do that for future reference. But we do want all the comments in one place only.

'nother challenge idea - how about 'This wasn't in the manual' or the snappier 'Not in the Manual'?

Could be Atlantean tech malfunctions, having to have sex in away missions to those damn fertility ritual planets, karma sutra!fic, not knowing how to handle a relationship, not being able to deal with alien colleagues/civilian commanders/running out of coffee, figuring out how to lead an assault on telepaths or any other way of opening new ground.

So didn't think about this all through two-hour train journey - clearly not... :)

Fairy Tales! You could rewrite the old ones, write a new sga story fairy tale style, have them stumble across mythical creatures – anything. :)
