The wrait enzime was not so bad. It had given Aiden many things. Enhanced speed and senses, and a bit of wraith-dar. But what he loved most was the gift of fire.
He blamed Uncle Jesse. Ever since he'd taught a ten year old Aiden how to make fireworks, it had been love at first kaboom. Aiden always knew that he wanted to make things light up, explode. That's why he'd joined the Marines. Make things go kaboom and get paid for it. Now, though, he didn't need any props.
Aiden narrowed his eyes at the hive ships in his viewport.
And laughed as all the world turned to fire.
