As for getting choked up - I got teary when I wrote about their last concert, with Aiden turning up and everything being perfect - bacuse that really was the end of the band! Then I stopped myself and wondered how I had got so invested in a fictional boy band based around fictional sci-fi characters. Then I shrugged and didn't care!
Rodney's 'Atlantis is no more' line is actually stolen from his real life counterpart, (if I am remembering correctly) when announcing his boy band's demise.
