Summary: "Next time you have a cold you should just lock yourself up in quarantine or better yet you should have Beckett lock you up in quarantine,"
"Aahh, ahh, ahh CHOO!"
"Ewww, Sheppard! This is disgusting! Do you know how many germs you just transferred on to me? Next time you have a cold you should just lock yourself up in quarantine or better yet you should have Beckett lock you up in quarantine," Rodney ranted as he used wiped spit off of the front of his shirt were John had sneezed on him. "I mean, seriously you could have at least given me a little warning so I could have ducked for cover because if I get sick I’m so rigging your quarters to give you cold showers and no lights for a week!"
"I'm sorry," John said looking even more miserable then he had when Rodney had first seen him walk in to the lab.
Rodney sighed then grabbed John’s arm and pulled him out of the lab and down the hallway to his own quarters. He opened the door and pulled John inside. Through the whole process John made no protest, showing just how bad he actually felt.
"You are such an idiot," Rodney said his voice laced with affection as he maneuvered John to the bed and put him in a sitting position on the edge. He knelt and started unlacing John’s boots, pulling them off and setting them aside. "I should be in the labs getting important work done instead of being here having to take care of a thirty-six year old with a cold. You should be glad I love you because I wouldn’t be doing this for anything less."
"I love you too, Rodney," John said slightly slurring the words, a small smile on his face as Rodney maneuvered him in to a lying position and tucked the blankets in around him. Rodney then disappeared into the bathroom only to appear again moments later with a bottle of aspirin, a glass of water, and a wet cloth.
"Here take these, they will help you feel better," Rodney said as he removed a few pills from the bottle and handed them to John who popped them in his mouth and chased them down with the water Rodney had handed him. He then lay back down on the bed his eyes never leaving Rodney as he fussed like a mother hen taking care of her chick.
"Now go to sleep, you will feel better when you wake up." Rodney sat on the edge of the bed and stroked John’s sweaty forehead with the wet cloth as John drifted off to sleep. Rodney sighed and smiled slightly at the sick, sleeping man; he bent over and kissed his forehead lightly before getting up and leaving the room to go back to his work.

-Two days later-
"Rodney! Open up!" John said as he pounded on the door.
"No! Go away - I hate you,” Rodney said with his voice clearly distorted form a stuffy nose.
"I'm sorry, Rodney; I didn’t mean to get you sick!" John yelled through the door.
"Well you did, you, you, you lemon!" Rodney yelled back.
John sighed heavily. "I really am sorry, Rodney. I’ve brought hot chocolate, chicken soup and a turkey sandwich to help you feel better."
The door opened immediately and John saw Rodney huddled on his bed, a box of tissues on the night stand and balled up tissues all over the bed and floor. He repressed the look of disgust and walked over to the bed with his tray of goodies.
"I still hate you," Rodney said with no menace or snark behind his words as he slowly sat up so that John could set the tray on his lap.
"I know you do," John said smiling at Rodney as he watched the man wolf down his food even with a cold.
"You’re still getting cold showers for a week," Rodney said in between bites and sips.
"No more than I deserve, I'm sure," John said, his smile still on his face as he watched Rodney finish off his hot chocolate and sandwich. Rodney looked up at him and gave a small smile and John knew that he had been forgiven.
