ADMIN: The Return Challenge
Apr. 16th, 2007 06:16 pmTo celebrate the return of SGA to television, and the return of SGA fandom being all back together, I give you, "The Return Challenge." The germ of this challenge stems from
gemmi999's desire for a post-Atlantis challenge, where the characters have to go back to earth and try to make new lives for themselves, which sounds to me an awful lot like what happens in "The Return." But there's so much more potential for stories in that ep: the goodbyes we didn't see! The hellos we didn't see! John redecorating his room after the replicators are gone! (thank you, Cin!) Teyla and Ronon having to go on, post-Atlantis. What did the Ancients do to the city; worse, what did the Replicators do? Let's have a little communal processing of canon, what do you say?
It's April 16th by my watch; stories will be due April 30th at midnight.

Date: 2007-04-20 01:41 pm (UTC)Only it's already about 2,400 words so far, and I have a couple of paragraphs to add to it...is it too big to post here? I might be able to split it into two or three parts if that would help, but I know there is a word limit and that I am well over it.
The story just wouldn't stop growing! I'm blaming it on the plot bunnies!
Don't mind if you say no, but I would like to post it here if allowed.
Thanks

Date: 2007-04-20 02:56 pm (UTC)OH, you do not know us at ALL. We have never in the history of the world enforced a word limit--the bigger the better! The only issue is, if it's bigger than a LJ window, you can post it here in parts, or you are welcome to put it on a webpage that is linked here but only here.
But yes--god--we LOVE big stories. (I mean, I wrote Denver for "flashfic", which is 74k *g*.)

Date: 2007-05-03 05:41 pm (UTC)Here are your options if you don't finish in time. You can:
1) wait for Amnesty (probably late summer)
2) post to your own journal and crosspost to sga_noticeboard and whatever other communities accept crossposts.
3) sneak it into another challenge *g* (Hey, for example: if we do an ice cream challenge, and there's ice cream in it--you're golden! *g*)
I hope one of these works for you, or that you're coming to a close to post before tomorrow.
Best--
