Just because they couldn't hear him, didn't mean he didn't talk. He filled the empty running hours with words, defiant in forced solitude. He talked about his work; the rules and regulations, stories collected through years of service, friends he would never see again. He talked about his home; the sounds, the smells, the bitter homesickness seeping past his defenses now and then. He talked about his wife; what they'd been and what they could have been… all the things he might not have lost, if only he'd tried harder.

Now, with a city listening, he’s run out of words to say.

I'm glad you liked it! ^_^ Most people I've met in real life who don't talk a lot normally have a reason for it, and I've noticed the further along the series goes the more talkative Ronon's getting. Makes me wonder if he was one of the people who spend isolation in silence, or pick up the habit of talking to themselves... I have odd Muses ^_^;
